Vélez Sarsfield has asked the Liga Profesional to move its match against Unión from Monday 27th to Sunday 26th to ease its tight schedule. Discover the key details of this crucial request.
Vélez Sarsfield has formally requested the Liga Profesional to modify the date of its upcoming match against Unión, corresponding to Matchday 16 of Zone A. "El Fortín" seeks to move the game from Monday, April 27th, to Sunday, April 26th, to better manage its demanding calendar, which includes commitments in both the Apertura tournament and the Copa Argentina.
The Liniers-based club, known as "la V Azulada," proposed that the clash against "El Tate" be played on Sunday the 26th instead of Monday the 27th at 6:45 PM, as initially scheduled. The primary reason for this request is the intense succession of matches the squad must face in the coming weeks.
Currently, Vélez Sarsfield is awaiting an official response from the Liga Profesional. It has been reported that Unión, the opposing team, would not object to this date change. An official statement is expected to be issued in the coming hours, provided no last-minute inconveniences arise.
Should the Liga Profesional not accept Vélez Sarsfield's request, the team led by Guillermo Barros Schelotto would face an extremely tight schedule, playing three matches in just one week.
